Lead Safety & Reliability Engineer, Safety Systems Software
About this role
Lead a team developing safety-critical software for Nuclear Instrumentation and Control systems at Westinghouse. Architect and maintain applications on the Common Q Platform, guide junior engineers, and collaborate with external certification groups on safety system software for nuclear reactors.
Responsibilities
- —Develop, modify, and maintain application software for I&C Safety System products
- —Develop requirements and design documentation for implemented software
- —Perform documentation and code reviews for implemented software
- —Work with external groups to support testing and certification of Safety System Software
- —Evaluate, troubleshoot, and address reported software issues from internal and external sources
- —Complete assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements
- —Mentor colleagues to develop skillsets within the team
Qualifications
- —4+ years of software development experience, preferably in highly regulated fields
- —Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- —Knowledge of distributed I&C architectures
- —Familiarity with software waterfall development model
- —Problem-solving mindset for addressing diverse software-related challenges
Desired
- —Experience with PLC function block programming
- —C/C++ experience
- —SQL/Access experience
- —Git/Subversion or similar software configuration management tools
- —Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD solutions
- —IBM DOORs or similar requirements management tools
