ISFSI Impl & Support Mgr
About this role
Oversee dry cask storage (DCS) operations and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) campaigns across Constellation's nuclear facilities. Ensure ISFSI readiness, regulatory compliance with 10 CFR 72, vendor management, and safe spent fuel storage operations. This role requires deep expertise in DCS system design bases, NRC regulations, Certificate of Compliance (CoC) processes, and aging management programs.
Responsibilities
- —Provide oversight of targeted DCS projects across Constellation to ensure ISFSI campaign readiness, including first-of-its-kind campaigns, NRC-inspected campaigns, new Certificates of Compliance, and recurring issue resolution
- —Oversee Away-from-Reactor (AFR) ISFSI operations (e.g., Zion)
- —Provide subject matter expertise on design bases of Dry Cask Storage systems and ensure configuration control processes are applied to all DCS activities
- —Review documents required by 10 CFR 72 regulations and support NRC inspection readiness
- —Develop, maintain, and enhance ISFSI Aging Management Programs utilizing technical and licensing knowledge
- —Interface with dry cask storage vendors to ensure campaign readiness; participate in oversight and audits of vendor engineering and fabrication activities
- —Review Department of Energy claim submittals for reimbursable ISFSI expenses to ensure accuracy and maximize reimbursement
- —Participate as senior dry cask storage expert in programs, initiatives, and industry ISFSI-related committees
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 8 years of nuclear or industry dry cask experience, OR Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license with 8 years of related experience, OR Associate's degree with 10 years of nuclear or industry dry cask experience, OR High school diploma/GED with 12 years of nuclear or industry dry cask experience. Must have dry cask storage experience, ability to travel up to 50%, and maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements with favorable medical examination/testing.
Desired
Experience with ISFSI Aging Management Programs; knowledge of 10 CFR 50.59 and 10 CFR 72.48 qualifications; knowledge of industry dry cask storage programs and vendor designs; NRC licensing expertise with respect to dry cask storage; prior oversight/audit experience in nuclear power operations.
Location
Up to 50% travel required; onsite work at Constellation Clean Energy Centers (multiple nuclear facilities)
