Instrument Maintenance Planner
About this role
Plan and prepare work packages for maintenance departments at Constellation's nuclear power plants to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations in compliance with QA manuals, company policies, and applicable nuclear codes. This role requires strong technical knowledge of nuclear operations, regulatory compliance (10 CFR 50.59, ASME Code), and the ability to manage complex maintenance workflows including corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, surveillance activities, and modifications.
Responsibilities
- —Plan and prepare work instructions for corrective maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance, surveillance activities, and modifications
- —Select and approve purchases or make procurement recommendations for all materials needed for work package execution
- —Conduct field walkdowns to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities
- —Interface and collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering to identify and resolve work package issues
- —Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials required to perform planned work packages
- —Prepare and submit Out of Service (OOS) notices, Radiation Work Permits (RWPs), plant barrier impairments, welding/grinding permits, fire impairments, Operability impact statements, ALARA task outs, and regulatory documentation
- —Verify work instructions comply with plant procedures including Nuclear Safeguard Protocols, ASME Code, and other applicable standards
- —Approve and review work packages to ensure safety, quality, technical rigor, and 10 CFR 50.59 compliance
- —Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to facilitate work package development and maintain compliance with codes and vendor recommendations
- —Provide project management of system planners or contractors developing detailed package preparation elements
- —Participate in work control/scheduling meetings, planning feedback sessions, contract requisition reviews, troubleshooting, EQR2 reviews, and peer reviews
- —Support emergency response, departmental coverage, and outage activities as directed
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience, OR
- —Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 2 years of related experience, OR
- —Associate's degree with 3 years of related experience, OR
- —High school diploma/GED with 4 years of related experience
- —Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements as applicable
- —Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Desired
- —5 years of experience in nuclear power plant operations
