About this role
Designs, develops, and delivers accredited operator training across classroom and simulator settings at a nuclear power plant. Supports all levels of operations personnel (non-licensed operators, licensed operators, Shift Managers, Shift Technical Advisors) and requires expertise in power plant operations and instructional design.
Responsibilities
- —Analyze and design training programs for non-licensed operator, licensed operator, Shift Manager, and Shift Technical Advisor training
- —Develop and conduct training in classroom and simulator environments for all operator training programs
- —Develop and administer examinations for operator training programs
- —Pursue and maintain instructor qualifications including general instructor, simulator booth operator, SRO Certification, and simulator floor instructor credentials
- —Assist with self-assessments and evaluations of operator training programs
- —Manage training program maintenance and CAP management
- —Function as a member of the site Emergency Response Organization (ERO)
- —Support Operations group day-to-day activities and plant refueling outages
Qualifications
- —Expertise or familiarity with power plant operations
- —Demonstrated ability to interface well with people and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- —Ability to effectively present training material to varied class sizes and entry-level knowledge
- —Organizational and administrative skills to produce, maintain, and deliver accredited performance-based training
- —Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in teams with minimal supervision
- —Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- —Ability to satisfy NRC security requirements
- —Ability to obtain RO or SRO license or SRO Certification
