I&C Technician
About this role
I&C Technician for an outage contract at Westinghouse's Oconee nuclear facility in Seneca, South Carolina. Install, repair, and maintain instrumentation and control systems including electronic and pneumatic instruments, piping, and test equipment used to measure and control critical variables such as pressure, flow, and temperature in reactor operations.
Responsibilities
- —Plan, layout, assemble, install, and repair electronic and pneumatic instruments, including primary piping and tubing
- —Select appropriate pipe types, sizes, and materials according to job specifications
- —Install, repair, maintain, and adjust indicating, recording, and controlling instruments and test equipment
- —Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install primary piping and tubing
- —Disassemble malfunctioning instruments or test equipment; examine and test mechanisms and circuitry for defects
- —Inspect instruments and test equipment periodically and adjust calibration to ensure functioning within specified standards
- —Read and interpret technical instructions, documentation, and plan work activities
- —Install associated support structures, components, and tubing
- —Observe and comply with all safety and project rules
Qualifications
- —3 years' experience in I&C field
- —1 year of experience in an operating nuclear plant
- —18+ years of age
- —High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
- —Ability to pass criminal background check, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD oil), and employment testing
Location
Onsite at Oconee nuclear facility in Seneca, South Carolina; outage contract position
