I&C Technician (outage)
About this role
Temporary I&C Technician role supporting instrumentation and controls maintenance during a mid-September to mid-October outage at the Bridgman, MI nuclear facility. You'll perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic process instrumentation systems, including reactor protection and rod control systems, under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- —Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic process instrumentation systems
- —Test and calibrate/repair pneumatic and electronic transmitters, indicators, converters, switches, PA and telephone communication systems, heat trace circuits, alarm modules, controllers, and recorders
- —Analyze, test, and repair solid state reactor protection system, rod control system, and rod position indicator system
- —Install design changes on instrumentation equipment involving wiring modifications, cable testing, wire terminations, and installation of piping, tubing and fittings
- —Assist engineers and vendor technical representatives in data collection, troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting and testing of specialized complex equipment and systems
- —Report errors, damaged equipment, and abnormal conditions to supervision
Qualifications
Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent education and experience; Two years' experience in Instrumentation and Controls or related field; Ability to pass criminal background check, drug/alcohol screen, and employment testing; Ability to be qualified to work within radiological controlled areas
Desired
Previous experience working in the nuclear power industry
Location
Onsite in Bridgman, MI; mid-September to mid-October outage period. Requires standing for long periods, working in warm environments, climbing ladders and stairways, ascending/descending scaffolding, and entering tight/congested areas.
