I&C Nuclear Instructor
About this role
Develop, administer, and maintain nuclear training programs at Ameren's Callaway Energy Center, an 800+ person nuclear facility in mid-Missouri. This I&C (Instrumentation & Control) instructor role ensures compliance with National Academy for Nuclear Training (NANT) accreditation standards while delivering classroom, laboratory, and simulator instruction to reactor operators, technicians, and engineering staff.
Responsibilities
- —Administer formal classroom training including classroom, laboratory, and simulator instruction for nuclear plant personnel
- —Prepare, administer, grade examinations, and evaluate trainee performance against industry standards
- —Schedule and coordinate training course presentations with appropriate department personnel
- —Support implementation of Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) methodology that meets NRC and industry standards
- —Support subject matter experts and vendors providing on-site and off-site training delivery
- —Monitor Condition Reports and industry trends for potential training improvements and curriculum updates
- —Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all training conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements
- —Actively participate in training programs to maintain individual qualifications and instructor certifications
- —Participate in in-plant activities and field time to maintain required licenses and certifications
- —Provide refueling outage support including preparations, in-processing training, and outage assignments
- —Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties and respond to assigned facilities within required timeframes
- —Provide peer reviews and feedback to colleagues
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- —Two (2) or more years of relevant professional or journey-level experience in engineering, maintenance (mechanical/electrical/I&C/radiological/chemistry), or technical instruction
- —Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- —Ability to supervise and motivate personnel
- —Dependability and strong interpersonal skills
- —Permanent residence within sixty highway miles of Callaway Energy Center
- —Security screening clearance for facility access
Desired
- —Previous training instructor experience in a National Academy for Nuclear Training (NANT) accredited program
- —Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- —Basic understanding of Computer-Based Training (CBT) development and delivery
- —Basic knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Location
Callaway Energy Center, mid-Missouri. Standard day shift in office/plant environment; callouts and rotating/outage schedules may be required; on-site work required within 60 miles of facility.
