Nuclear Station Operations Training Instructor - Robinson Nuclear Plant
About this role
Design, develop, and deliver accredited nuclear operations training programs for licensed and non-licensed operators at Robinson Nuclear Plant (Westinghouse PWR). Requires SRO license and hands-on experience developing training across classroom, simulator, and in-plant settings. Role supports INPO and NRC compliance.
Responsibilities
- —Develop, revise, and update training materials to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with INPO and NRC requirements
- —Conduct classroom, flow loop, simulator, and in-plant training for reactor operators
- —Develop, administer, grade, and control examinations and evaluation tools
- —Evaluate training programs, students, and materials; recommend and track improvements
- —Participate in site and industry training assessments, audits, and evaluations
- —Maintain alignment with nuclear station groups and current training methodologies to ensure technical competence
- —Support INPO accreditation renewal and NRC initial license examination processes
Qualifications
High School/GED or equivalent; 2+ years related work experience; Current or previous SRO license or SRO certification; 0.25+ years nuclear power plant experience; Demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques; Ability to obtain SRO instructor certification
Desired
Westinghouse PWR SRO License; Previous operations training experience (classroom, simulator, OJT/TPE, developer settings); Knowledge of SAT process and NRC initial license examination; INPO accreditation renewal experience; Previous NRC or INPO interface within last 3 years; Experience with action tracking and Vision software; Strong analytical skills for process improvement; Project leadership and planning capability; Unescorted plant access eligibility
Location
Hybrid (remote and onsite after onboarding); must live within reasonable commute to Robinson Nuclear Plant, Hartsville, SC. 5–15% travel. Ability to work various shifts including evening and back-shift hours. Must maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
