Early Career Rotation Program Engineer
About this role
A 3-to-6-month rotational development program for recent engineering graduates at Ameren, a major US energy company. Rotate through nuclear, fossil, renewable, and corporate business units to build technical expertise in power generation, grid operations, and nuclear safety. Includes mentorship, structured projects, and pathway to full-time engineering roles.
Responsibilities
Participate in creation and execution of increasingly complex projects across multiple strategic business areas (nuclear operations, engineering, transmission/distribution)
Support project development and conduct research to inform key business decisions
Participate in continuous learning activities and training programs to build technical and industry knowledge
Develop internal networks and relationships to support career advancement within the organization
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Civil, Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Nuclear, or related field) from accredited university
Graduation date no more than 7 months prior to June 2026
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; effective teamwork with diverse stakeholders
Self-starter mentality in fast-paced environments with strong organizational skills
Receptive to feedback and motivated to lead and influence
Desired
Successful completion of Ameren Internship or Co-op program within past two years with demonstrated strong performance
One year of professional-level or internship engineering experience
Willingness to take calculated risks and embrace innovation
Location
Ameren operates nuclear facilities and generation assets across multiple US regions (primary operations in Illinois, Missouri); specific rotation location(s) not specified in posting.
