About this role
Westinghouse I&C Hardware Engineer supporting design and delivery of Instrumentation & Control safety system cabinets and electro-mechanical components. Responsible for issuing technical drawings, bill of materials, and specifications; compiling quality documentation; managing obsolescence solutions; and interfacing with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure designs meet nuclear safety system requirements.
Responsibilities
- Issue drawings, bill of materials, and technical specifications for I&C Safety System products
- Compile technical and quality documentation for procurement, testing, and manufacturing of Safety System hardware products
- Develop engineered solutions and part change evaluations to address obsolescence issues for electrical products
- Interface with suppliers and manufacturing facilities to support technical issue resolution
- Assist in development of equipment qualification test procedures, support testing, evaluate results, and review final reports
- Provide engineering support to customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and shop operations
- Perform engineering calculations to support design or analysis of products
- Work closely with manufacturing operations to resolve issues and ensure products comply with build-to-print specifications
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis and design
- Awareness of field devices and control devices typical to the power industry
- Familiarity with industry standard drawings including schematics, cabinet drawings, and panel layouts
- Experience with AutoCAD or 3D modeling software
