Instruments and Controls Electrical Engineer at Constellation's Byron nuclear plant in Illinois. This role supports reactor operations and safety systems through electrical engineering design, analysis, and technical support. Position levels available: Entry (BS Engineering), Mid (2+ yrs nuclear experience), Senior (5+ yrs nuclear experience). Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and maintain electrical systems supporting reactor instrumentation and control (I&C) systems in accordance with applicable safety analyses and NRC regulatory requirements
- Perform engineering calculations, drawings, and technical assessments for I&C electrical equipment and installations
- Support safety-related and non-safety electrical systems testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Participate in outage planning and execution for I&C electrical maintenance and upgrades
- Support emergency preparedness activities and on-call response duties as assigned
- Ensure compliance with nuclear quality assurance (QA) requirements and regulatory oversight
Preferred qualifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred over other engineering disciplines)
- Demonstrated experience designing and testing electrical systems in regulated environments
- Prior experience with instrumentation and controls systems, particularly in power generation
