About this role

Fire Protection Program Engineer serving as the nuclear facility's technical authority for implementing, maintaining, and improving the Fire Protection Program. Responsible for regulatory compliance, engineering evaluations, licensing basis documentation, and coordination with NRC, operations, and maintenance teams. Entry, Mid-level, and Senior positions available based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Program Health Reports, KPIs, and maintain Fire Protection Reports, Safe Shutdown Analysis, and procedures
  • Perform engineering evaluations and calculations on fire barriers, detection systems, suppression systems, and safe-shutdown features
  • Review and approve design changes affecting fire protection systems and licensing basis
  • Lead or support NRC inspections, NEIL audits, self-assessments, and OPEX/IR reviews
  • Investigate fire protection issues and support corrective action plan development
  • Participate in INPO peer calls and industry committees (NEI, NFPA)
  • Ensure compliance with NRC regulations, NFPA standards, and fleet procedures

Preferred qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
  • Experience in engineering programs, system ownership, or fire protection functions
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes, NRC regulatory requirements, and nuclear safety processes
