Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or Chemical, Civil/Structural, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering). Mid-level candidates require 2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience; Senior candidates require 5 years. Must maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements as applicable. Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties.

About this role

Constellation, the nation's largest producer of clean and reliable energy, seeks a Mid-level or Senior Electrical Engineer to provide advanced technical expertise supporting nuclear plant operations. You will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for engineering problem-solving, design decisions, and oversight of programs impacting safe, reliable nuclear facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs
  • Serve as subject matter expert to identify and resolve equipment and system problems through technical expertise and consultation
  • Directly fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term programs impacting site operations
  • Perform engineering tasks applying engineering principles and ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work with proper configuration management
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects and programs
  • Recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or comply with code/regulatory changes
  • Support emergency response, departmental coverage, and outage activities as directed

Preferred qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) Registration. Previous experience in nuclear power or other power generation utility. Experience with transformers and high voltage power electrical systems, relays, motors, and control systems. Experience with large electrical modifications including generators, exciters, and relays. ETAP or equivalent power system analysis software experience. Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IEEE).
