About this role
Fluid Systems Engineer I at Westinghouse supporting nuclear power plant fluid system design, analysis, and engineering programs. Design and analyze safety-critical systems including Emergency Core Cooling Systems (ECCS), Chemical & Volume Control Systems, Residual Heat Removal, Reactor Coolant Systems, and Containment Spray Systems. Report to Manager of Systems Engineering & Special Programs.
Responsibilities
- Identify problems and propose solutions to assigned or innovated fluid systems projects and tasks
- Plan and implement complex training programs to develop business in plant programs
- Work with engineering personnel to set objectives and resolve design, analysis, and program efforts
- Communicate nature and status of work to technical leads and management
- Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings to present technical materials and justify designs
- Make data-based decisions and communicate with plant management, WEC staff, and stakeholders
- Promote a Safety Conscious Work Environment and Westinghouse's Nuclear Safety Culture
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS), Chemical & Volume Control System (CVCS), Residual Heat Removal System (RHR), Reactor Coolant System (RCS), and Containment Spray System
- Knowledge of MOV (Motor-Operated Valve) and AOV (Air-Operated Valve) systems
- Experience with MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, or similar programming tools
- Familiarity with testing and testing analysis
- Familiarity with ASME Section III code
- Familiarity with fluid system and thermal-hydraulic design (pump, valve, heat-exchanger sizing, fluid network analyses)
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid, 2 days per week on-site at Cranberry Township, PA
