Field Service Technician
About this role
Support the preparation, maintenance, testing, and operation of specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment used during nuclear power plant outages worldwide. This role combines equipment repair, remote-controlled tool operation, on-site execution, and close collaboration with engineering teams to validate and improve nuclear technologies.
Responsibilities
- —Repair and maintenance of specialized remote-controlled equipment (milling, drilling, Electric Discharge Machining, bolting systems)
- —Commission and test newly designed equipment
- —Support Product and Development Engineers during testing phases (parameter development, validation, troubleshooting)
- —Install and configure software on computers and control units, including network setup
- —Operate specialized equipment on-site at nuclear power plants worldwide
- —Manufacture or modify electrical and mechanical components
- —Assemble equipment and tooling
- —Collaborate cross-departmentally and internationally with teams across multiple countries
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience as a skilled technician in similar role. Strong mechanical and/or electrotechnical aptitude. Ability to read technical documentation (mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, procedures). Basic knowledge of computers, software installation, and networking. English proficiency minimum A2. Problem-solving mindset with teamwork and communication skills. Willingness to travel internationally and work in outage environments.
Desired
English proficiency B1 or higher. Local language proficiency for Germany, Spain, or Belgium (native level or C1/C2 equivalent).
Location
Mannheim, Germany; hybrid role with international travel required for on-site nuclear plant outage operations.
