Field Service Technician
About this role
Westinghouse Field Service Technician supporting nuclear power plant outages worldwide. Responsibilities include repair and maintenance of specialized remote-controlled equipment (milling, drilling, EDM, bolting systems), commissioning new equipment, on-site installation and software configuration, and collaboration with engineering teams to validate and improve nuclear maintenance technologies.
Responsibilities
- —Repair and maintain specialized remote-controlled equipment including milling, drilling, Electric Discharge Machining (EDM), and bolting systems
- —Commission, test, and troubleshoot newly designed equipment; support product development engineers during validation phases
- —Install, configure, and network software on computers and control units for on-site nuclear power plant deployment
- —Operate specialized equipment on-site at nuclear power plants worldwide during outages
- —Manufacture or modify electrical and mechanical components; assemble equipment and tooling
- —Collaborate cross-departmentally and internationally with engineering teams across multiple countries
Qualifications
- —Minimum 3 years experience as a skilled technician/maintenance worker
- —Strong mechanical and/or electrotechnical aptitude; ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and procedures
- —Basic computer knowledge including software installation and networking configuration
- —English proficiency minimum A2 level; willingness to travel internationally and work in high-pressure outage environments
Desired
- —English proficiency B1 or higher
- —Local language proficiency (Germany, Spain, Belgium) at native or C1/C2 level
Location
Based in Mannheim, Germany; hybrid work arrangement with frequent international travel required for on-site work at nuclear power plants worldwide.
