Field Service Technician
About this role
Field Service Technician supporting preparation, maintenance, testing, and operation of specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment used during nuclear power plant outages worldwide. Based in Mannheim, reporting to Manager NDE & Special Products, with international travel to nuclear sites.
Responsibilities
- —Repair and maintain specialized remote-controlled equipment (milling, drilling, Electric Discharge Machining, bolting systems)
- —Commission and test newly designed equipment; support Product and Development Engineers during testing phases
- —Install, configure, and troubleshoot software on computers and control units including network setup
- —Operate specialized equipment on-site at nuclear power plants worldwide
- —Manufacture or modify electrical and mechanical components; assemble equipment and tooling
- —Collaborate cross-departmentally and internationally with teams across multiple countries
Qualifications
- —Minimum 3 years experience as skilled technician in similar mechanical/electrotechnical role
- —Basic knowledge of computers, software installation, and networking
- —Strong mechanical and/or electrotechnical aptitude; ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and procedures
- —English proficiency minimum A2 level
- —Problem-solving mindset; teamwork and open communication
- —Willingness to travel internationally and work in nuclear outage environments
Desired
- —English proficiency B1 or higher
- —Local language proficiency (Germany, Spain, Belgium) at native level or C1/C2 equivalent
Location
Mannheim, Germany; hybrid role with mandatory international travel to nuclear power plant sites worldwide for outage support
