Fabrication Follow Engineer I
About this role
Fabrication Follow Engineer supporting AP1000 nuclear plant construction across Europe and the US. Oversee structural steel modules and Shield Building panel fabrication, review engineering documentation, manage Requests For Information from fabricators, and coordinate with supply chain and Westinghouse senior management from Madrid headquarters.
Responsibilities
- —Provide engineering support and oversight of large structural steel modules and Shield Building panels fabrication for AP1000 European and US plants
- —Improve products and processes to support fabrication of these modules
- —Work with FFE Team to provide answers to fabricators' Requests For Information (RFI)
- —Review shop drawings, address non-conformance requests, and support fabrication of steel modules
- —Coordinate with Supply Chain Team, providing updates on tasks to support fabricators to FFE Leads
- —Engage with partners, supply chain, and WEC senior management
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering. At least 1+ years of experience in structural steel design and support to fabrication. Knowledge of structural steel design codes, welding design and codes, and engineering principles. Ability to organize work, delegate effectively, and ensure timely high-quality deliverables. Strong team building and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proficient English.
Desired
US structural steel and AWS welding codes knowledge. Experience with European and US nuclear quality standards and engineering change control processes.
Location
Madrid, Spain (Westinghouse headquarters). Hybrid position.
