Required qualifications

About this role

Constellation seeks a Structural Engineer (Mid-level or Senior) to provide advanced technical expertise supporting nuclear plant operations. You will serve as a subject matter expert solving complex structural engineering problems, leading technical programs, and ensuring compliance with nuclear industry codes and regulations including 10 CFR 50 and ASME standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and implement structural engineering analysis, activities, and programs supporting reactor operations
  • Identify and resolve equipment and system structural integrity problems through technical consultation and root-cause analysis
  • Lead short-term and long-term structural engineering programs with direct impact on site safety and operations
  • Perform structural engineering analysis applying principles of mechanics, material science, and nuclear design criteria
  • Ensure configuration management, design accuracy, and adherence to ASME codes, NRC regulations, and site design standards
  • Conduct independent research, technical reviews, and structural studies in support of plant modification and licensing projects
  • Recommend equipment upgrades, design improvements, and process changes to enhance performance, reduce costs, or maintain regulatory compliance
  • Support emergency response, outage activities, and on-call coverage as assigned

Preferred qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
  • Previous nuclear license renewal or NRC licensing experience
