Engineer, Nuclear Level 4 Lead

Capital Projects Electrical Engineer at Westinghouse providing technical interface with engineering firms on nuclear power plant project development. Responsible for preparing and reviewing electrical engineering documents, calculations, and design outputs in compliance with NRC regulations (10 CFR 50.59) and nuclear industry standards. Requires 15+ years of nuclear engineering experience with deep expertise in power systems, electrical equipment, and design verification.

Provide technical interface with engineering firms on capital project development and design

Prepare and review engineering documents, calculations, and specifications using applicable NRC and nuclear industry standards

Prepare stand-alone electrical calculations and procurement specifications for power systems equipment

Review, verify, and approve design output documents including design changes, calculations, and specifications

Apply expertise in 10 CFR 50.59 compliance and conduct independent design verification per nuclear standards

Perform power systems analysis including load flow, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and coordination studies

Bachelor of Science in Engineering

15+ years of nuclear engineering experience with at least 12 years at US nuclear power plants

Expertise in molded case circuit breakers, motor starters, thermal overloads, low/medium voltage breakers, and switchgear

Knowledge of Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs), transformers, main generators, voltage regulators, industrial battery chargers, inverters, UPS systems, and 125Vdc battery systems

Expertise in plant operations and engineering project management

Demonstrated experience in power systems engineering (non-I&C focus)

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Experience as cognizant/oversight engineer or in engineering project management

Experience with NextEra Energy nuclear plants (Seabrook, Point Beach, St. Lucie, Turkey Point)

Proficiency in power systems analysis tools (ETAP, EDISON)

Experience with ladder logic and electrical schematics

Familiarity with NFPA 805 and Appendix R safe shutdown analysis

Remote with per diem offered when traveling
