Entry-level control systems engineering role at Westinghouse supporting design, implementation, and verification of industrial control systems for nuclear power plant projects globally. Develop foundational expertise in control system architecture, PLC/DCS platforms, and nuclear regulatory compliance under experienced mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Support design and implementation of industrial control system solutions per customer, regulatory, and internal requirements
- Develop control logic, configuration, and HMI functionality using standard industrial control platforms (PLC, DCS)
- Specify and integrate control system components including controllers, I/O, networks, power distribution, and interfaces
- Perform engineering analyses such as calculations, reviews, and assessments under senior engineer direction
- Support requirements interpretation, traceability, and verification/validation activities including test documentation and factory acceptance testing
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, P&IDs, and specifications per established procedures
- Collaborate with hardware, software, functional design, and testing teams to ensure integrated control system performance
Preferred qualifications
Prior internships, co-op assignments, or project experience in control systems, automation, or related engineering fields; exposure to PLC, DCS, or industrial automation platforms through coursework or academic projects
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid position based in Cranberry Twp, PA; up to 25% travel required; no relocation assistance provided
