Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related engineering discipline)
- Mid-level: 2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience
- Senior-level: 5 years of nuclear or related engineering experience
- Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements as applicable
- Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
- Senior-level: Meet additional requirements outlined in ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 Standard for Nuclear Power Plants
About this role
Mid-level or senior electrical engineer supporting nuclear plant operations at Constellation, the nation's largest clean energy producer. Develop engineering analyses, solve complex electrical equipment and system problems, and ensure compliance with NRC design standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement electrical engineering analysis, activities and programs
- Identify and resolve equipment and system problems through direct technical involvement
- Manage engineering issues from initiation through resolution
- Perform engineering tasks applying electrical engineering principles and standard design criteria
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work with proper configuration management
- Conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects
- Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, and comply with regulatory changes
- Support emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and outage activities as directed
Preferred qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- Solid grasp of electrical engineering techniques and understanding of fundamental functions performed by the engineering group
