Engineer 1- Mechanical/Architectural
About this role
Engineer 1 supporting Westinghouse's Layout and Design Integration Engineering group on advanced nuclear plant designs. Contribute to plant design integration of systems, equipment, structures, and physical arrangement using 3D modeling and analysis tools for nuclear island layout, hazards evaluation, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- —Perform physical arrangement of nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and support using 3D design software
- —Perform hazards evaluations with 3D plant models and analysis software
- —Work with Westinghouse proprietary digital design architecture (WNEXUS) to author, review, and verify engineering designs
- —Conduct in-depth reviews of 3D models and plant designs for code and regulatory compliance
- —Read, interpret, and author engineering drawings and criteria documents
- —Provide engineering support to design, fabrication, and construction organizations including RFI responses, design changes, and deviation resolution
- —Prepare reports to satisfy applicable regulatory, code, and customer contract requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering; minimum 3.0 GPA; willingness to pursue Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
