Constellation seeks an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer to perform engineering and technical support for nuclear plant operations at LaSalle County Generating Station (dual-unit BWR site in Marseilles, IL). Entry-level (new graduate) and mid-level (2+ years nuclear experience) positions available; salaries $87,000–$114,000 based on qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering and technical tasks supporting nuclear plant operations, applying general engineering principles and safety analyses
- Ensure all engineering products comply with applicable safety analyses, industry codes (ASME, NRC), and regulatory requirements (10 CFR 50)
- Participate in development and implementation of effective engineering processes and techniques in compliance with established policies and procedures
- Recommend format and methodology improvements to standard processes and procedures
- Support emergency response duties, department coverage, and refueling/maintenance outage activities as directed
Preferred qualifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- Good understanding of fundamental functions performed by nuclear engineering groups
