Electrical Lab Technician
About this role
Constellation seeks an Electrical Lab Technician (Lab Tech II or III) to perform equipment calibrations, testing, and analysis of nuclear plant components using industry standards and technical expertise. Lab Tech III candidates will also develop calibration processes, mentor junior technicians, and manage complex equipment qualifications.
Responsibilities
- —Setup and perform basic calibrations of measuring and test equipment and analysis of plant components, systems, and parts
- —Produce accurate test reports of calibrations and testing, verifying acceptability of results per Constellation PowerLabs Quality Assurance Manual
- —Support or perform customer onsite calibrations or testing that may involve regional travel
- —Maintain and calibrate testing and analytical equipment
- —Interact with clients and vendors on technical projects and calibrations (Lab Tech II+)
- —Process vendor calibrations and conduct vendor source verifications for testing and calibration (Lab Tech II+)
- —Perform corrective and routine maintenance and repair of PowerLabs and customer equipment (Lab Tech II+)
- —Develop processes for and perform complex calibrations of measuring and test equipment (Lab Tech III)
- —Plan, support, and perform customer onsite calibrations and testing involving regional travel (Lab Tech III)
- —Provide technical support, mentoring, and training of Lab Tech I and Lab Tech II technicians (Lab Tech III)
Qualifications
- —Associate's degree in a technical field, OR 60 credits toward a BS degree in a technical field, OR PMEL training, OR high school degree plus four years of relevant experience
- —Demonstrated aptitude in chemical, electrical, mechanical, or metallurgical testing, analysis, calibrations, or basic engineering principles
- —Ability to gain unescorted access to Constellation Nuclear Stations
- —Good oral and written communication skills
Desired
- —Nuclear power plant experience or Radiation Protection experience
- —Metrology or related education via vocational technology (VoTech), military, or Associate's degree in technical area
- —Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical equipment issues
- —Knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory, motors, protective relays, and associated control circuits
- —Skilled in operation of electrical test instruments and interpretation of test data to evaluate equipment condition, performance, and compliance with technical requirements
Location
Onsite with regional travel required for customer onsite calibrations and testing
