Electrical Engineer
About this role
Electrical Engineer role at Constellation's LaSalle County Generating Station (dual-unit boiling water reactor). Provides advanced technical expertise in nuclear plant electrical systems, equipment analysis, and problem-solving across entry-level, mid-level, or senior engineer positions. Supports nuclear facility operations, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs for electrical systems supporting reactor operations
Provide technical expertise as subject matter expert to identify and resolve equipment and system problems in nuclear plant electrical infrastructure
Fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability for short-term and long-term programs impacting site operations and safety
Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects and nuclear regulatory compliance
Recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or comply with NRC/code regulation changes
Support emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and outage activities as directed
Qualifications
Entry-level: B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear)
Mid-level: B.S. in Engineering with minimum 2 years nuclear or related engineering experience; must meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 Standard requirements
Senior-level: B.S. in Engineering with minimum 5 years nuclear or related engineering experience; must meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 Standard requirements
Maintain minimum unescorted access requirements and pass favorable medical examination/testing in accordance with position duties
Desired
Experience with electrical hardware support and nuclear plant systems
Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
Advanced technical degree or related coursework in electrical engineering
Location
Onsite at LaSalle County Generating Station in Marseilles, IL; includes on-call duties and emergency response responsibilities
