About this role
Electrical Engineer IV at Westinghouse responsible for designing and overseeing liquids pump station facilities for nuclear expansion and maintenance capital projects. Manage third-party engineering consultants, ensure compliance with NRC regulations and industry codes, and coordinate across project execution, operations, and shared services teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage third-party engineering consultants to ensure design deliverables meet quality standards while maintaining budget and schedule
- Ensure all pump station facilities are designed in accordance with NRC regulations, applicable industry codes (ASME, IEEE), and corporate standards
- Design electrical components, interconnects, and related systems for pump station facilities
- Review and approve design deliverables including drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets
- Participate in design review meetings with engineering firms, project managers, operations, and construction personnel to discuss scope, design, performance, and constructability issues
- Review vendor material quotations, prepare technical evaluations, and recommend selections based on technical merit, price, and delivery
- Identify and communicate lessons learned and quality incidents for assigned projects
Preferred qualifications
Capable of working independently and managing multiple projects while prioritizing tasks; problem-solve issues through use of standards, modification of standards, and/or previous experience; effectively communicate technical issues and impacts to technical and non-technical staff; experience with pump systems, electrical design in regulated environments, and vendor management
Location, schedule, and travel
Houston, TX; 80% office-based, 20% field work; strong computer skills required
