Digital Monitoring & Protection Systems Engineer
About this role
Join Westinghouse's Thermal Hydraulic Design team as a Digital Monitoring & Protection Systems Engineer. You will develop expertise in digital monitoring and protection systems (COLSS and CPCS) that ensure safe nuclear plant operation, providing technical support to US and international utilities and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- —Participate in introductory training on standard analyses and obtain qualifications in Digital Monitoring and Protection Systems
- —Perform COLSS and CPCS analysis work for US and international customers following approved methodologies, regulatory guidelines, and internal processes
- —Develop skills to assume independent assignments and verify evaluations and analyses performed by others
- —Provide plant startup support, address emergent issues, and interface with customers and internal departments to support safe plant operation
- —Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and fleet organizations
- —Plan and schedule work to meet assignment requirements within schedule and budget while maintaining quality
- —Participate on project teams and communicate work status to project managers and technical leads
- —Identify and recommend process and tool improvements on a continuing basis
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- —0+ years of engineering experience
- —Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles
- —Statistical knowledge or experience
- —Computer simulation, programming skills, and Linux experience
- —Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification completed or in process
Location
Hybrid role based in Cranberry, PA. No relocation available.
