Required qualifications

Higher technical education with specialization in electrical engineering, engineering physics, computer engineering, or energy engineering. 3+ years of work experience with industrial control systems (ABB AC160, ABB 800xA, Siemens PCS 7, ABB AC400/AMPL series). Work experience in project-based industrial automation, particularly in the process or nuclear industry.

About this role

Design and upgrade control systems for nuclear power plants at Westinghouse's Swedish operations. This hybrid role involves developing technical solutions across all project phases, from feasibility studies through commissioning and training, reporting to the Director of Advanced Operations and Controls Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and upgrade control equipment in existing nuclear control systems
  • Analyze existing control systems and adapt technical solutions to plant requirements
  • Develop conceptual solutions, requirements specifications, and conduct engineering investigations
  • Conduct feasibility studies, construct systems, and perform risk analysis
  • Document, test, and commission control systems; perform troubleshooting
  • Provide training on deployed control systems
  • Participate in all phases of project-based work in industrial automation for nuclear facilities

Preferred qualifications

Formal education in control engineering. Previous hands-on experience designing or troubleshooting control systems.
