Required qualifications
- At least 5+ years' industry experience, with at least 2 years at Engineer level
- Nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
- Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and their application
- Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products, plant and equipment
- Legally eligible to work in the UK
About this role
Westinghouse seeks a Control Systems Engineer to design and support instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for nuclear energy projects. You will work directly with customers to develop technical documentation, hardware designs, and control logic while providing commissioning and on-site technical support for new plant builds and system upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Review customer specifications and create technical documentation for instrumentation and control systems design for new plant and upgrade projects
- Develop hardware design documentation including cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and PCB layout/schematics
- Perform functional design, implementation, testing, and site commissioning of control logic
- Support creation of documentation for procurement and manufacturing
- Provide resolution of technical issues including obsolescence management
- Develop test procedures and execute functional tests
- Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues
Preferred qualifications
- Chartered Member of the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology)
Location, schedule, and travel
Gateshead, UK; hybrid working arrangement; willingness to travel domestically and internationally required.
