Commissioning Engineer
About this role
Commissioning Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company (Westlakes site). Oversee assigned nuclear facility assets, manage plant modifications, and drive reliability improvements across nuclear systems. Requires engineering background with apprenticeship or formal degree and commitment to nuclear industry career development.
Responsibilities
- —Provide frontline engineering services and oversee assigned asset groups to ensure safe maintenance and operation meeting legal/business requirements
- —Prepare, deliver and manage Plant Modification Proposals (PMPs) following formal processes; manage projects from startup to installation
- —Proactively identify plant problems and recurring issues, coordinating corrective maintenance actions
- —Comply with regulations, standards and policies while maintaining responsibility for safety, cost and quality standards
- —Monitor and evaluate plant performance through observation, work log review, and recommend/implement improvements
- —Conduct regular plant walk downs to assess condition, performance and environmental impacts
- —Partner with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering Reliability teams to drive improvements in work delivery and plant availability/reliability
- —Identify system and component issues, engage specialists to initiate corrective actions
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience in similar position; Engineering background with apprenticeship (timeserved) and formal degree award or equivalent relevant experience; Excellent communication, interpersonal, mathematics and literacy skills; Excellent IT proficiency; Ability to obtain security clearance as required
