Civil&Structural Engineering Expert
About this role
Civil/Structural Engineering Expert for a Polish nuclear project under Westinghouse. You will serve as the primary coordinator for all civil/structural engineering aspects, ensuring plant structures meet Polish seismic, geotechnical, and building code requirements while aligning with U.S. nuclear design standards. Reports directly to the Deputy Project Director.
Responsibilities
- —Collaborate with engineering partners and subcontractors to validate and adapt U.S.-based civil and structural designs to Polish Civil Construction Law requirements
- —Review and support development of structural calculations, analysis models, and compliance documents
- —Support derogation documentation related to structural design elements prepared by local Design Houses
- —Maintain alignment with EU structural engineering norms and IAEA siting standards
- —Interface with local design partners, customer, regulatory authorities, and in-country authorities on building permits and licensing issues
Qualifications
- —Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- —Civil Construction Licence for design and construction (uprawnienia budowlane, projektowe)
- —Minimum 10 years of structural design or engineering oversight experience
- —Familiarity with Polish Civil Construction Law, seismic/building codes, and EN Eurocode series
- —Active execution experience on at least one large power or industrial project in Poland during the last 10 years
- —Fluent Polish and English
