Civil / Structural Engineer 2
About this role
Support structural design activities for nuclear energy projects at Westinghouse's global headquarters. Contribute to structural steel and reinforced concrete design for nuclear facilities, working on-site and remotely. Address technical issues across fabrication, assembly, and construction phases while delivering field support at multiple utilities.
Responsibilities
Support design activities including analysis and drawing markups in structural steel or concrete design for nuclear projects. Address technical issues related to fabrication, assembly, and construction phases of civil/structural projects. Provide technical justification of design changes and troubleshoot emergent technical issues. Deliver on-site support at multiple utilities and smaller projects. Gain familiarity with analytical tools such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, and GT Strudl. Become familiar with applicable industry codes and standards (ACI, AISC, AWS) and company procedures. Develop engineering sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering. Minimum 3 years of applicable experience.
Desired
Prior internship experience. EIT/FE Certification.
Location
Hybrid (2 days per week on-site); Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; no relocation assistance provided
