Civil Engineer
About this role
Civil Engineer I at Westinghouse Madrid, supporting nuclear industry projects. Design and analyze civil-structural systems (reinforced concrete, structural steel, building infrastructure) using 2D/3D CAD and BIM methodology. Work in a hybrid environment on global nuclear engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- —Perform civil-structural engineering design for reinforced concrete, structural steel, and building infrastructure; conduct analyses and resolve technical issues through data collection and interpretation
- —Use 2D CAD and 3D BIM software for design work; originate, verify, and oversee drawings and drafting activities
- —Develop structural concepts, technical specifications, calculations, sizing analyses, and technical reports compliant with applicable codes and standards
- —Apply industry standards (ACI, AISC, ASME, NRC, CSN) and project design basis to engineering work; prepare engineering change control documents and calculation notes
- —Collaborate across Westinghouse's global engineering teams to deliver work within scope, schedule, and budget
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher. Minimum 2 years experience in Civil or Mechanical-Structural Engineering. Familiarity with Structural Eurocodes and European standards (UNE EN ISO) for structural materials and components. Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASME, NRC, and CSN standards. Fluency in Spanish and English. Eligibility for professional engineering association membership.
Desired
Experience in energy, oil & gas, or civil construction sectors. Proficiency with CAD, structural analysis, or FEA software. Additional languages: French, German, or Italian.

Hybrid, Madrid headquarters. Travel percentage not specified.
