Welding Program Engineer
About this role
Welding Program Engineer at Callaway Energy Center (PWR nuclear facility in mid-Missouri). Provides technical leadership in welding system optimization, engineering evaluations, nonconformance disposition, and corrective action implementation. Ensures compliance with NRC regulations, INPO standards, and nuclear codes. Interfaces across departments to develop cost-effective maintenance strategies and design-basis documentation.
Responsibilities
Perform safety evaluation screening and disposition of nonconformance reports and Requests for Resolution (RFRs)
Conduct engineering evaluations, minor modifications, and material equivalency assessments for welding and related equipment systems
Perform causal analysis of equipment and system deficiencies/failures; determine and implement corrective actions
Monitor and trend performance of assigned programs; report status to plant management
Review and apply NRC and INPO operating experience guidance to plant operations
Develop work plans, prioritization strategies, and long-range life-cycle management for welding programs
Support configuration and design changes; maintain design basis documentation
Interface with other departments to establish cost-effective maintenance and inspection strategies
Review technical specifications and instruction manuals to determine testing and maintenance requirements for safety-related equipment
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
Security screening clearance required for Callaway plant access
Desired
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
Previous nuclear utility experience
Location
