Welder (Middle)
About this role
Middle-level welder for Westinghouse's nuclear fabrication operations in Monfalcone, Italy. Perform manual and semi-automatic welding using GTAW, SAW, and ESW processes on nuclear reactor components and assemblies. Report to the Nuclear Fabrication Manager.
Responsibilities
- —Perform welding operations using GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), SAW (Submerged Arc Welding), and ESW (Electroslag Welding) processes on nuclear components
- —Record essential welding parameters using welding monitoring templates and ensure compliance with Welding Process Specifications (WPS)
- —Verify proper preparation of components and surfaces before welding; position and move parts manually or using hoists and cranes
- —Identify defects in equipment, materials, and welds; report findings to supervisors and quality personnel
- —Comply with company procedures for safety, quality, risk, and security protocols
Qualifications
- —Professional school diploma or equivalent
- —Minimum 4 years of previous experience with GTAW, SAW, and ESW welding
- —Proficient in Welding Process Specifications (WPS)
- —Italian and English language proficiency (minimum B1 level)
- —Availability to work three-shift rotation (Monday to Friday)
Location
Monfalcone site, Italy. Onsite, three-shift rotation: 6:00 am–2:00 pm, 2:00 pm–10:00 pm, 10:00 pm–6:00 am, Monday to Friday.
