Required qualifications
- 7+ years of directly related nuclear power plant experience, including at least 4 years in the mechanical craft or discipline to be supervised
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science (or Associate's degree with 9+ years experience, or High School diploma/GED with 11+ years experience)
- Nuclear supervisory or management experience
- Participation in supervision or management activities during: surveillance/testing/calibration during initial fueling or refueling, preoperational/post refueling/initial startup testing, 1 month of operation above 20% power, and 2 months during a maintenance outage
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong experience with and understanding of plant systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Maximo, and SAP
- Ability to lead personnel to safely and efficiently execute work
- Demonstrated high integrity, safety, professionalism, and sound judgment
About this role
Superintendent of Nuclear Maintenance (Mechanical) at Surry Nuclear Station. Supervise all corrective maintenance actions, direct daily activities of the Maintenance Department, and ensure compliance with corporate and NRC regulatory standards. Lead mechanical maintenance operations, manage departmental budgets, and oversee implementation of system design changes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and administer all corrective maintenance actions in accordance with corporate, state, and NRC requirements
- Direct daily activities of Maintenance Department employees and monitor task completion to verify adherence to station policies and procedures
- Assist planning in developing daily work schedules and outage schedules
- Direct and provide guidance to Maintenance Supervisors in proper execution of their responsibilities
- Maintain plant mechanical systems to assure safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Manage Mechanical Maintenance department budget
- Supervise implementation of system design changes
