About this role
Dominion Energy is seeking a System Protection Intern for Summer 2027 at Surry Nuclear Power Station in Surry, VA. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in the field of power generation, electric transmission and distribution.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret electrical design drawings.
- Assist with infrared scans and basic instrument checkout and repair.
- Participate in high-voltage diagnostic testing and relay testing.
- Support functional testing of protection systems and control circuits.
- Shadow System Protection Technicians to gain insight into substation equipment and field operations.
- Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Strong problem-solving skills with mechanical and/or electrical equipment and control circuits.
