About this role

Supervise Radiation Protection Technicians at a nuclear facility, managing decontamination, instrumentation, training, and radiation exposure control programs. Ensure compliance with NRC/state regulatory requirements and maintain ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) standards for nuclear workers.

Responsibilities

—Direct daily supervision, monitoring, and coaching of Radiation Protection Technicians to ensure productive, compliant workforce
—Manage day-to-day Radiation Protection program operations, ensuring timely work completion and ALARA compliance
—Oversee decontamination, instrumentation, planning, scheduling, procedures, training, and radiation waste programs
—Supervise hiring, training, and field oversight of Laborers/RPTs performing plant cleaning and equipment decontamination
—Manage plant contaminated square footage and personnel contamination events performance metrics
—Interface with Plant Staff and regulators on Radiation Protection program implementation
—Communicate company programs, policies, and announcements to assigned employees; collect employee feedback
—Support emergency response, departmental coverage, and outage activities as directed
—Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and state requirements

Qualifications

—Bachelor's degree with 5 years of applied radiation protection experience, OR
—Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience, OR
—Associate's degree with 7 years of applied radiation protection experience, OR
—High school diploma/GED with 9 years of applied Radiation Protection experience
—Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements
—Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Desired

—Successful completion of National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) certification
—Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field (e.g., health physics, chemistry, physics, medical physics)
