Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree + 5 years applied radiation protection experience, OR
- Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license + 5 years applied radiation protection experience, OR

- High school diploma/GED + 9 years applied radiation protection experience
- Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access as applicable
- Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
About this role
Supervisor Radiation Protection at Braidwood Nuclear Power Station (Constellation Energy). Lead the RP team managing decontamination, instrumentation, training, and exposure control programs. Ensure ALARA compliance, regulatory adherence, and support plant operations and maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and coach Radiation Protection Technicians and Laborers; maintain workforce compliance with company policies and collective bargaining agreements
- Manage day-to-day RP program operations to ensure timely work completion and maintain worker radiation exposure As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA)
- Direct implementation of decontamination, instrumentation, planning, scheduling, procedures, training, radiation exposure control, and rad waste programs
- Oversee routine plant cleaning and equipment/tool decontamination activities in the field
- Monitor performance metrics including plant contaminated square footage and personnel contamination events
- Hire, train, and oversee RP team members
- Communicate company programs, policies, and announcements to assigned staff; provide management feedback
- Ensure compliance with applicable NRC regulatory and state requirements
- Interface with plant staff and regulators on RP program implementation
- Support emergency response, departmental coverage, and outage activities
Preferred qualifications
- National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) certification
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in science-related field (health physics, chemistry, physics, medical physics)
