Required qualifications

  • Meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-1978 Section 4.3.2 requirements for supervisors
  • Compliance with ANSI/ANS Standards and Regulatory Guidelines

About this role

First-line supervisor for nuclear chemistry department at Entergy's power plant, overseeing full-time and temporary chemistry staff. Manages water quality, environmental monitoring, and radwaste programs across PWR/BWR units. Ensures regulatory compliance (NRC, NPDES), drives team development, and maintains chemistry excellence through procedure governance, data trending, and ALARA leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Set and reinforce standards; monitor chemistry fundamentals application and address performance gaps
  • Oversee water chemistry (PWR/BWR), cooling water systems, REMP, NPDES, radwaste, and groundwater monitoring programs
  • Provide technical direction and supervision for chemistry duties; delegate and track work assignments
  • Ensure site chemistry procedures meet EPRI, INPO, and vendor standards; verify timely revisions and updates
  • Support outage planning, system trend reviews, and project implementation with Engineering and Projects teams
  • Ensure personnel qualification and proficiency; support training, mentoring, and promotion-ready candidate development
  • Enforce ALARA principles across chemistry personnel
  • Review, trend, and evaluate chemistry data; write condition reports for adverse trends
  • Collaborate with laboratory supervisor on sampling, monitoring programs, and recommendations
  • Support superintendent with business plans, excellence plans, and long-range strategy
  • Participate in peer calls and industry working groups per company standards

Preferred qualifications

SRO or BWR/PWR certification

Onsite in Killona, Louisiana; up to 25% travel required
