Structural Engineer
About this role
Structural Engineer at Constellation Energy supporting nuclear plant operations through structural analysis, design, and technical problem-solving. Entry, Mid-level, and Senior positions available. You'll develop engineering analyses, manage technical programs, and serve as a subject matter expert on structural systems and equipment at operating nuclear facilities.
Responsibilities
- —Develop, manage, and implement structural engineering analyses and technical programs supporting plant operations
- —Provide technical expertise as a subject matter expert to identify and resolve structural equipment and system problems
- —Perform structural design, analysis, and load calculations (cable supports, cable trays, panels, foundations, concrete and steel structures)
- —Conduct independent research, studies, and analyses for capital improvements and modifications
- —Ensure accuracy and compliance with design criteria, codes (ASME, ACI, AISC), procedures, and regulatory requirements
- —Recommend equipment upgrades, design improvements, and process enhancements to improve performance and reduce costs
- —Support emergency response, on-call duties, and outage activities as needed
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Nuclear Engineering
- —2+ years of nuclear or related engineering experience (Mid-level) or 5+ years (Senior-level)
- —Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities
- —Favorable medical examination and clearance for position duties
Desired
- —Professional Engineer (PE) license or Structural Engineer (SE) license
- —Advanced degree or coursework in Structural Engineering
- —Structural support design experience (cable supports, cable trays, mounting, load analysis, concrete and steel analysis, foundation design)
- —Experience with structural analysis software (STAADPro, SAP2000, SAFE)
- —Large-scale capital improvements and nuclear plant modification experience
