About this role

Structural Engineer at Constellation Energy supporting nuclear plant operations through structural analysis, design, and technical problem-solving. Entry, Mid-level, and Senior positions available. You'll develop engineering analyses, manage technical programs, and serve as a subject matter expert on structural systems and equipment at operating nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities

—Develop, manage, and implement structural engineering analyses and technical programs supporting plant operations
—Provide technical expertise as a subject matter expert to identify and resolve structural equipment and system problems
—Perform structural design, analysis, and load calculations (cable supports, cable trays, panels, foundations, concrete and steel structures)
—Conduct independent research, studies, and analyses for capital improvements and modifications
—Ensure accuracy and compliance with design criteria, codes (ASME, ACI, AISC), procedures, and regulatory requirements
—Recommend equipment upgrades, design improvements, and process enhancements to improve performance and reduce costs
—Support emergency response, on-call duties, and outage activities as needed

Qualifications

—Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Nuclear Engineering
—2+ years of nuclear or related engineering experience (Mid-level) or 5+ years (Senior-level)
—Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities
—Favorable medical examination and clearance for position duties

Desired

—Professional Engineer (PE) license or Structural Engineer (SE) license
—Advanced degree or coursework in Structural Engineering
—Structural support design experience (cable supports, cable trays, mounting, load analysis, concrete and steel analysis, foundation design)
—Experience with structural analysis software (STAADPro, SAP2000, SAFE)
—Large-scale capital improvements and nuclear plant modification experience
