Structural Engineer
About this role
Structural Engineer role supporting nuclear plant operations at Constellation Energy, the nation's largest clean energy producer. This position involves advanced technical problem-solving, structural analysis, and equipment/system resolution in compliance with nuclear industry codes and regulations. Available at Entry, Mid-level, or Senior level.
Responsibilities
- —Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs
- —Provide technical expertise and consultation to identify and resolve equipment and system problems
- —Perform complete task management of engineering issues and projects
- —Perform structural engineering tasks applying engineering principles and standard design criteria
- —Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work while maintaining proper configuration management and applying nuclear industry codes and procedures
- —Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects and programs
- —Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or comply with regulatory changes
- —Support emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and outage activities as assigned
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear)
- —Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable
- —Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
- —2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience (Mid-level)
- —5 years of nuclear or related engineering experience (Senior level)
Desired
- —Professional Engineer Registration or Structural Engineer License
- —Advanced Technical Degree or coursework in Structural Engineering
- —Structural support design engineering and analysis experience (cable supports, cable trays, panels, mounting, load analysis, concrete analysis, steel analysis, foundation design)
- —Familiarity with Structural Analysis/Design Software (STAADPro, SAP2000, SAFE)
- —Large scale capital improvements and modifications experience
