SRO Principal Engineer Nuclear Operations
About this role
SRO Principal Engineer supporting nuclear operations across new generation reactors (AP300 SMR, eVinci microreactor, AP1000) and global operating fleet. Develop operating and test procedures, validate control room simulator scenarios, and support plant commissioning worldwide. Leverage hands-on reactor operator experience combined with new plant development expertise.
Responsibilities
- —Acquire knowledge and develop expertise in writing operating procedures that define how control room operators run plants under normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions
- —Develop test procedures supporting commissioning of new plants (AP1000 and next-generation reactors) to demonstrate component and system functionality from preoperational testing through startup phases
- —Validate scenarios in control room simulators before they are used to train reactor operators and implemented in plants worldwide
- —Support commissioning of new plants globally as an author of operating and test procedures
- —Integrate operating experience and develop new scenarios for the operating fleet while designing procedures for next-generation nuclear plants (SMRs and microreactors)
- —Collaborate with industry professionals to apply technical expertise in nuclear operations
Qualifications
- —Reactor Operator (RO), Senior Reactor Operator (SRO), or qualified SRO instructor certification
- —10+ years of experience in reactor operations
- —Fluent in Technical English
- —European Union citizenship or resident with valid work permit
Location
Hybrid work schedule; Madrid or Vila-Seca based (Spain)
