Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years of turbine-generator or nuclear plant experience, OR Current/previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license with 5+ years of related experience, OR Associate's degree with 7+ years of related experience, OR High school diploma/GED with 9+ years of related experience
  • Maintain NRC unescorted access requirements or equivalent security clearance
  • Pass favorable medical examination and baseline/periodic testing in accordance with position duties
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable NRC regulations, industry codes (ASME, IEEE), and nuclear safety requirements

About this role

Senior technical specialist providing advanced engineering problem-solving for turbine-generator operations at Constellation's nuclear fleet. Lead technical decision-making, troubleshooting, and equipment resolution for Extended Power Uprate (EPU) projects while ensuring compliance with NRC regulations and industry codes, mentoring teams on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, communicate, and implement engineering analysis for turbine-generator systems and EPU modifications
  • Identify and resolve equipment and system problems through independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work with proper configuration management and adherence to NRC regulations, standard design criteria, practices, procedures, and applicable codes (ASME, IEEE)
  • Recommend equipment upgrades, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or ensure regulatory compliance
  • Enforce procedure use, Human Performance fundamentals, and Technical Human Performance techniques across assigned teams
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to achieve continuous improvement in turbine operations and maintenance practices

Preferred qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • Advanced technical degree or related graduate coursework in nuclear engineering or mechanical engineering
  • ASME certification or equivalent industry credentials
