Sr, Tech Training Specialist
About this role
Senior Technical Training Specialist for Entergy's power generation operations. Develop and deliver safety, operations, and maintenance training using ADDIE methodology. Train reactor and turbine operators, maintenance technicians, and field personnel on control room simulator operations (CCCT), instrumentation, electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, and operating fundamentals. Conduct needs analysis, assess training effectiveness using evaluation models, and collaborate with operations teams to ensure training aligns with plant safety and performance standards.
Responsibilities
- —Work with operations and maintenance teams to determine training needs and develop curriculum plans for power generation personnel
- —Conduct needs and performance analysis through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and technical consultations
- —Develop and edit classroom training materials, technical documentation, and course content across multiple disciplines
- —Deliver, schedule, and facilitate multi-skilled training courses including control room simulator training (CCCT), operating fundamentals, instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical maintenance
- —Apply ADDIE and other development models for course design and maintain course history and documentation
- —Assess training effectiveness using evaluation models (e.g., Kirkpatrick's) and determine appropriate delivery methods
- —Develop and update training courses, certifications, and qualification processes for operations and maintenance personnel
- —Collaborate with business partners to review and update training, operating, and maintenance procedures
- —Obtain technical reviews from content owners to ensure accuracy and completeness of training materials
- —Solicit and respond to feedback on content, delivery, and training processes
- —Participate in continuous improvement of technical writing and documentation processes
- —Manage projects independently with minimal supervision to meet schedules and budgets
Qualifications
- —High school diploma or equivalent
- —8+ years of power generation or industrial experience with training development capability (without degree), OR 5+ years with a bachelor's degree
- —Proficiency in at least one maintenance discipline: Instrumentation and Controls (calibration, troubleshooting, integration), Electrical (high/medium/low voltage systems, switchgear, distribution), or Mechanical (equipment installation and maintenance)
- —Working knowledge of combustion turbines, generators, CCCT systems, and associated auxiliaries
- —Understanding of steam properties and thermodynamics as applied to power generation
- —Ability to effectively communicate in multiple mediums and styles
- —Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse teams
- —Working knowledge of or ability to learn LMS and SharePoint
- —Ability to travel 75% to support field locations in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana
Desired
- —Associate degree in Process Technology
- —Familiarity with Adobe Suite and desktop publishing tools
- —Experience with content management and revision control systems
- —Experience with print, web-based, and electronic document delivery methods
- —Ability to interpret and organize technical manuals and engineering data
- —Experience writing operating procedures, technical manuals, and product documentation
Location
Onsite with 75% travel required to field locations in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana
