Sr, Tech Training Specialist
About this role
Senior Technical Training Specialist at Entergy supporting nuclear and fossil power generation operations. Design and deliver safety, operations, and maintenance training to field personnel using systematic training methodology (ADDIE). Analyze performance needs, develop comprehensive training solutions, and oversee multi-skilled technical training including control room simulator instruction.
Responsibilities
- —Work with customers to determine training needs and priorities, developing plans and initiatives for maintenance and technical training in Power Generation
- —Research and analyze operational, maintenance, and technical training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and consultations with managers and customer representatives
- —Conduct needs and performance analysis to develop curriculum for new courses or updates to existing Power Generation training programs
- —Develop and edit classroom training materials and provide input on training content for relevance and effectiveness
- —Oversee, schedule, deliver, teach, and facilitate multi-skilled training courses including control room simulator training on CCCT, operating fundamentals, instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical maintenance
- —Apply evaluation models (such as Kirkpatrick's) to assess training effectiveness and determine appropriate delivery methods
- —Develop or update training courses and certification processes for operations, maintenance, and technical personnel
- —Apply ADDIE or other development models for course development projects and maintain course history information
- —Collaborate with business partners to review and update training, operating, and maintenance procedures; develop technical documentation plans
- —Participate in continuous improvement of technical writing processes and systems to ensure quality and compliance
Qualifications
- —High school diploma or equivalent
- —8+ years of power generation or other industry experience with ability to deliver, produce, and develop training course material without a degree, OR 5+ years of experience with a degree
- —Ability to travel up to 75% to support field locations in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana
- —Effective communication in various mediums and styles
- —Strong interpersonal skills and ability to integrate into diverse teams
- —Working knowledge of LMS and SharePoint
- —Operations skills: combustion turbine and auxiliaries, generator and auxiliaries, CCCT knowledge and associated equipment, understanding of steam properties in power generation
- —Maintenance skills in one of the following: Instrumentation and Controls (installation, calibration, troubleshooting of industrial process instruments and control system integration) OR Electrical (proficient in high, medium, low voltage power and control system installation and troubleshooting) OR Mechanical (installation and maintenance expertise)
Desired
- —Associate degree in Process Technology
- —Familiarity with Adobe suite products and similar word processing and desktop publishing tools
- —Experience with content management and revision control systems
- —Experience with print, web-based, and electronic document delivery
- —Ability to understand, interpret, and organize technical manuals and data
- —Experience writing operating procedures, technical manuals, and product-oriented documentation
Location
Onsite with up to 75% travel required to field locations in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
