Sr Software Engineer, AI
About this role
Lead AI systems architecture and development at Constellation Energy, the largest US clean energy producer. Design scalable AI/ML solutions for energy sector operations while ensuring compliance with NERC, FERC, and SOX regulatory frameworks. Mentor engineers and oversee code quality for mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- —Design, develop, and review complex code for AI solutions meeting functional and technical specifications
- —Engage with business partners to gather requirements and deliver practical, cost-effective solutions
- —Lead and mentor junior engineers; provide code reviews and technical oversight
- —Develop and review technical architecture design and implementation for large-scale distributed services
- —Ensure all applications adhere to regulatory, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements (NERC, FERC, SOX, data privacy)
- —Develop automated unit and UI tests; establish debugging priorities and assign bugs
- —Support CI/CD pipeline development and Git version control within agile environments
- —Conduct technical presentations and develop white papers justifying technology recommendations
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Information Systems with 5+ years experience (or 9+ years without degree)
- —2+ years in AI systems or ML engineering with demonstrated implementation experience
- —Proven ability to lead small to medium teams in delivering software solutions
- —Strong software development capabilities in Python, Perl, or C#
- —Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Solaris, Linux) or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
- —Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Location
On-site role working with cross-functional teams including scrum masters, project managers, QA, Creative, and UX. Works independently with minimal guidance.
