Sr Ops Training Instructor
About this role
Senior Operations Training Instructor at Constellation, the nation's largest producer of clean energy. Design, develop, and deliver nuclear licensed operations training programs for Reactor Operators (RO) and Non-Licensed Operators (NLO) using Constellation's systematic approach to training model. Requires 6+ years operator experience, or relevant technical degree plus nuclear background, or current/previous RO/SRO certification. Must achieve SRO certification within 18 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- —Design, develop, implement, and evaluate plant-specific nuclear licensed Operations training programs using Constellation's systematic approach to training model
- —Coordinate and conduct performance-based Reactor Operator (RO) and Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) training programs aligned with user community requirements
- —Keep training programs current with information from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, NRC Bulletins, Constellation Nuclear Event Reports, procedure changes, and training effectiveness reports
- —Prepare trainee examinations and conduct evaluations across classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments
- —Conduct trainee counseling sessions and develop individualized training programs based on evaluation results
- —Support clean energy center and fleet initiatives including business projects, refuel outage support, emergency preparedness, and special projects
- —Participate in NRC, INPO, and management audits; prepare responses to audit findings
- —Supervise collection and maintenance of auditable training records and documentation
- —Maintain current knowledge of plant operations and disciplinary skills to develop effective, high-quality training
- —Achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of hire
- —Perform additional assignments as directed including emergency response and outage support
Qualifications
- —6+ years as equipment operator in test reactor, commercial, industrial, or military power plant; OR Associate's degree in technical discipline, education, or training plus 4+ years nuclear technical background or 6+ years related operator experience; OR Current/previous licensed Reactor Operator or SRO certification plus 4+ years related operator experience; OR Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear) or related science/education/training plus 3+ years nuclear technical background or 4+ years related operator experience; OR Current/previous SRO license
- —Meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.4.3) Standard requirements for nuclear power plant personnel
- —Maintain minimum or unescorted access requirements
- —Pass favorable medical examination and/or testing per position duties
Desired
- —Experience in commercial nuclear training programs
- —Knowledge of and hands-on experience with systematic approach to training (SAT)
Location
On-site at clean energy center facility; call-out and emergency response duties required; may support outage activities outside department.
