Sr Ops Training Instructor
About this role
Senior Operations Training Instructor at Constellation's LaSalle Station nuclear facility (Marseilles, IL). Develops, implements, and evaluates NRC-compliant nuclear operations training programs for Reactor Operators and Non-Licensed Operators. Position requires SRO certification within 18 months and involves designing performance-based training, maintaining compliance with INPO guidance and regulatory updates, conducting simulator and classroom instruction, and supporting fleet initiatives.
Responsibilities
- —Design, develop, implement, and evaluate plant-specific nuclear licensed Operations training programs using Constellation's systematic approach to training model
- —Coordinate and conduct performance-based Reactor Operator (RO) and Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) training programs aligned with user community requirements
- —Maintain training programs current with INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, NRC Bulletins, design changes, procedure updates, and new regulations
- —Prepare trainee examinations and conduct evaluations in classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments
- —Conduct counseling sessions with trainees, evaluate results, and develop individualized training programs
- —Support facility and fleet initiatives including business projects, refuel outage support, and emergency preparedness duties
- —Participate in NRC, INPO, and management audits; prepare responses to audit findings
- —Supervise collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports documenting training activities
- —Maintain current knowledge of plant operations and disciplinary techniques to develop high-quality training
- —Achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of assuming the position
- —Perform emergency response duties, departmental coverage, and outage support as directed by management
Qualifications
- —High school diploma/GED with 6 years of related power plant operator experience (test reactor, commercial, industrial, or military), OR Associate's degree in technical discipline, education, or training with 4 years of related power plant operator experience, OR Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical or nuclear) or related science with 2 years of related power plant operator experience
- —Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements as applicable
- —Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
- —Meet or exceed ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.5.4) Standard requirements for nuclear power plant personnel

Onsite at LaSalle Station, Marseilles, IL; includes emergency response and outage support activities requiring flexible availability.
